STEAM-Warts School of Wizards: Grades Y5-5
The wizard staff at Challenge Island have brewed up a brand new and magical weekend camp of spellbinding adventure! You will take a full load of magical classes from Transfiguration to Flying Broomsticks to Charms and Potions to Magical Beasts. We’ll be creating magical stairways and passageways, labyrinths, dragon races, and much, much more. You will learn important wizarding skills and STEAM fundamentals each day! The course is taught in person by STEAM professionals based here in Michigan, who encourage and celebrate the students’ accomplishments. We keep course enrollment small, to allow for plenty of interaction between the instructors and the students, and between the students themselves (in line with all COVID safety guidelines). GENERAL REGISTRATION INFORMATION: Register early! Many classes fill up quickly. Please register one week in advance so we can make class enrollment decisions. Registrants are contacted only if the class is cancelled. Clarkston Community Education reserves the right to cancel a class due to insufficient registrations.

PREREGISTRATION IS REQUIRED FOR ALL CLASSES. Pre-registration is required for all programs. NO drop-in registration available.

INCLEMENT WEATHER/SCHOOL CLOSING: In the event Clarkston Community Schools are closed, all Community Education classes will be canceled or postponed. We will make an attempt to reschedule canceled or postponed classes if possible. You will be notified via email about rescheduled canceled or postponed classes. Classes could be made up in-person or virtually. We cannot give any full or partial refunds for canceled or postponed classes due to inclement weather/school closings ordered by Clarkston Community Schools, Oakland County Health Department, or the State of Michigan.

FUNDING: Community Enrichment programs are funded entirely by class fees. Any classes that do not meet the minimum enrollment requirements may be canceled.

DROPS / REFUNDS: Please read carefully before registering for a class. Full refunds will be given if class is canceled by the office. Participate requested refunds must be made prior to the beginning of the second class, regardless of attendance. Participate refunds will be charged a $10 processing fee. The cost of materials cannot be refunded.

NEW 2020-2021 Clarkston Community Schools: By participating in Clarkston Community Education in-person programs, all participants and their kin will automatically agree to the Clarkston Community Schools & Clarkston Community Education 2020-2021 Programs General Waiver of Liability Agreement. Copies of our waiver can be found on the Clarkston Community Education webpage. Participants and their kin also agree to wearing a face mask at all times while indoors, and to social distance by 6ft when possible. One parent/spectator per participant is allowed inside school facilities only during the program time. Participants and their kin also agree and understand that these terms, policies, and producers could be updated under the guidance of Clarkston Community Schools & Clarkston Community Education and agree to follow new updates as they are released.
