THE CLARKSTON PROJECT: SUMMER BAND DAY CAMP

For students that are currently enrolled (or completed) 6-9th grade band

This summer camp allows young musicians the opportunity to meet friends and make music. Students will meet in a Concert Band setting and in sectionals with the intent of reinforcing concepts learned during the school year. Band Members should have at least 1 year of instruction in band. Students from area schools are also welcome but must have the recommendation of their director. Students will meet and work with Clarkston Band Directors and Clarkston “music mentors.” Students should bring a packed lunch each day. A Camp Store will offer snacks and water for sale. On Thursday, students will perform a concert for friends, family and the community. Prior to the concert, the directors will host a cookout for all participants and their families. Attire: comfortable clothing that is acceptable for school, however, for the Thursday concert wear khaki shorts and the camp t-shirt that will be provided.

**Second child discount is half price.**

General Registration Information:
Register early! Many classes fill up quickly. Please register at least one week in advance so we can make class enrollment decisions. Registrants are contacted ONLY if the class is full or canceled. The most common reason for a class being canceled is low enrollment. If we cancel a class you will receive a full refund or may transfer to another class in the current semester. Clarkston Community Education reserves the right to cancel a class due to insufficient registrations.

Funding: Community Enrichment programs are funded entirely by class fees. Any classes that do not meet the minimum enrollment requirements may be canceled.

Preregistration is required for all classes. Preregistration is required for all programs. NO drop-in registration on the day of the class will be offered.

Drops/Refunds: Please read carefully before registering for a class. Full refund will be given if class is canceled by the office. Student request refunds must be made prior to the beginning of the second class, regardless of attendance. All student requested refunds will be charged a $10 processing fee. The cost of materials cannot be refunded. No refunds will be issued for classes/events meeting once or twice unless requested two business days in advance of starting date.

Payment: cash, check (made out to Independence Township), Visa or MasterCard

Inclement Weather/School Closing: When Clarkston Community Schools are closed, all Community
Education classes will be canceled. We will attempt to make up all classes.
